Please reach us at hello@zapilates.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
You can join our Equipment Fundamentals sessions at any time. They are the perfect starting point where you will learn to set up and use the Reformer, Tower and CardioTramp as well as learning the basic principles of Pilates.
Please wear something comfortable and easy to move in. The closer fitting, the easier it is for us to see your form but ultimately you want to feel good. Most clients wear the same type of clothing as they would wear to the gym. We recommend "grippy" pilates/yoga/trampolining socks.
We don't have a designated changing room but there is a bathroom and you can also change in our kitchen area.
You may like to bring some water and a microfibre cloth to wipe down the equipment after use. Don't worry if you forget, we also have these at the studio.
Caterham on the Hill has two free carparks, Raglan and Townend (easily found using google maps). There is also on street parking around the studio but this is limited to one hour on the high street during peak hours.
The answer to this will depend on the type of injury. You should always have been signed off by a Doctor or Physio to make sure that it is safe for you to start a new exercise program. Often you can add Pilates to your recovery journey but you may need to start with a 121 to assess your needs. Please contact us to discuss.
We have a designated "ForeverFit" class which includes clients in their 80s. You would still start with our Equipment Fundamentals course and then hopefully progress into one of these classes. Pilates is excellent for balance, flexibility, strength and bone health so ideal to continue to practice as we age.
Do not underestimate the challenge of Pilates! We do spend some time practicing breath and using small movements to help our mind-body connection but we can challenge the most capable athletes and dancers so be prepared to work hard!
You don't have to start with a 121 session (although you are welcome to do so), our Equipment Fundamentals is the perfect place to start.
If you enjoy gym style classes and love planks, lunges and squats then you are welcome to start in our Dynamic Reformer classes without completing our Equipment Fundamentals first. Due to the fast pace and challenging nature of this class it is not suitable if you are suffering from current or recurring injuries.
You are very welcome to book 121 or duet classes if you are pregnant. Unfortunately we don't currently run any pre-natal group classes and we don't recommend starting our regular group classes if you are new to Equipment Pilates. Post-natal clients are welcome to join our Equipment Fundamentals once signed off by a medical professional.
Gymcatch is the booking system we use to manage your bookings and payments. You need to create a Gymcatch account in order to purchase a class or package. You can book and pay online by going to gymcatch.com and searching ZAPilates or you can download the app from the Appstore or the Google Play Store.
